These Polaroids capture the essence of my time in Geuzenveld and these specific Polaroids document the small houses of the Couperusbuurt, built between 1957 and 1958. Behind these seemingly ordinary facades lie countless stories. This neighborhood, like many others in Amsterdam, is undergoing rapid change, with new buildings replacing old ones. The blind facades, so characteristic at the time, are now making way for modern architecture with large glass sections. The contrast between then and now is striking and raises questions about preserving the neighborhood’s identity.”
